Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu NES megamix
I went back and revisited Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu for Chinese New Year and was pleasently surprised at how well it aged. Many licensed titles of the retro era have the reputation of a murderous regime, but Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu takes a great leap forward thanks to its tight controls and steady flow of platforming and combat.
There's quite a variety of special moves and attacks to keep thing interesting. Items can be acquired by killing frogs just like in real life. Sprites are big and cheerful, and checkpoints are modest so dying isn't overly frustrating by today's standards.
I took a Kung-Fu class when I was in kindergarten once. I remember going in and seeing a white guy as the teacher and being confused. Then he told us that Kung-Fu isn't about fighting. Really? Then what it is about? My god damn feelings?
Mr. Nice Guy, Drunken Master, Rumble in the Bronx, Police Story, Supercop. What's your favorite Jackie Chan movie? Stat a dialogue in the comments section (unless it's Rush Hour, then just keep your comments to yourself).
