TouchDown Fever NES megamix
The Super Bowl was coming up so It was only a matter of which football game I should choose to mix it up with this season. Tecmo Bowl? Too predictable. So I listened to several gridiron NES soundtracks and it turns out a few of them are quite good.
Having a gander at Touchdown Fever wasn't as bad as I expected. The concept is simple enough that it's actually refreshing to play something "new" that you can jump into without any problem. The menus are simple and the inputs are responsive. Offense is more fun because you actually get to choose your play.
This provides even more incentive not to be on defense and to get the ball back quickly. I never tried the arcade version but I'm curious now after reading about how it used parts from Ikari Warriors. American football should be more like Ikari Warriors anyway.
I'm surprised this wasn't included on SNK's 40th Anniversary Collection. What are some other sports games that have a memorable soundtrack? Namedrop a few NES classics with good music and keep it tuned to GAME TEST PLAY for more NES MEGAMIX.
