Spy Vs Spy NES megamix
Spy Vs. Spy is a game I would really like to see released again since the internet happened and we now have the ability to play random strangers from around the world.
The gameplay is still very unique. You walk around an embassy looking for 4 things and a briefcase. You can only carry one thing at a time until you find the briefcase, so you hide stuff, place traps, and try tripping each other up. There's even a couple weapons you can acquire to stab your opponent with. Die and receive a time penalty as well a time out while the other Spy can continue looking for other items. Having to focus on two screens is part of the fun in Spy Vs. Spy.
Imagine how much better this game would be today with procedural generated stages. Every experience would be fresh and distinct in an already one-of-a-kind title. Actually, there were two sequels: Spy Vs. Spy 2 The Island Caper that stayed on the Famicom in Japan and Spy Vs. Spy 3 Artic Antics that never left the computer. There's also a Game Boy Color version, which was a reboot of the original with many more embassies.
So how come I made an NESmegamix with only one song and a jingle? Well it always bothered me that the main theme didn't loop properly. Listen to it yourself the next time you're playing. I went ahead and took some creative liberties to correct that for the better of mankind. Hope you appreciate it.
