gumshoe NES megamix
Gumshoe could have been an NES Classic, that is if anyone knew what the hell a gumshoe was, or if they had a save feature back in the day, because Gumshoe is hella tough.
For those of you new to retrogaming, this is a zapper game, where you point the light gun at the screen, randomly start shooting stuff and hope your mom doesn't yell at you for sitting to close to the screen. It didn't work well back then and still sorta sucks now, but with the magic of emulation and contemporary hardware, Gumshoe actually plays better than its initial incarnation.
The game required too much precision back in the day, but thanks to modern devices like the mouse, the joycon, and the touchscreen, Gumshoe can be enjoyed in variety of different ways by an entire new generation. A generation that likes to help people by shooting them so that they float up into the sky.
The four levels are pretty lengthy and contain multiple sections and even different paths which can be confusing, but they are actually bonus sections. It all adds to the wonder and amazement of playing something that was never released in Japan because it was too weird. Can we hold out for a release on the Nintendo Switch Online since they keep getting Japanese-only releases and we don't? Start a dialogue in the comments.
