Road to Guangdong
It's Chinese New Year AKA Spring Festival here in China, so the largest annual migration of human beings is taking place on Earth, which means I get to sit at home and play video games while searching for dope beats.
Enter Road to Guangdong, a slow-placed driving game where you venture across Guangdong province with Grandma while trying to figure out your gender. The developers have smoothened out some of the bumps that came along with Jalopy, a similar title released by the same publisher back in 2016. Purchasing items, pumping gas, and maintaining your vehicle are much less trouble thanks to the quick and easy menus.
I appreciate the streamlined interface, but they really need to make the cutscenes optional (skippable). You spend most of the time clicking a button and plodding through text. Why not tell the story during the drive? After all, it IS a road trip game. While you're at it, try throwing in some random events like getting pulled over by cops or Grandma coming down with the coronavirus.
