WipEout Omega Collection
Having nostalgia for futuristic racing games is like looking forward to the next retro reboot, and revisiting wipEout Omega Collection makes me hope that one day F-Zero will receive the same treatment as this did.
Don't get it twisted, I definately enjoyed my time with the wipeEout series. The tremendous sense of speed, a wide variety of courses and modes, the barrel rolling mechanic, and dope beats kept me pushing through the tracks, learning the nuances of each corner and perfecting my run, so I'll just come out and say it: I don't like the weapons.
Weapons add too much luck. They are fine on elimination mode or if you're just playing with some casuals, but when you're trying to unlock ships and progress through the events it becomes a dragshow. Maybe if you could recover where you left off instead of ending your run it would have been better. I like F-Zero GX's battling mechanic: nudge your opponents into the wall until they perma-die. Developers please take notice.
