Shovel Knight
File Shovel Knight under "list of games I purchased for more than one system." I bought it many years ago when it was released on the Nintendo 3DS, and then I saw the Treasure Trove collection which contains campaigns for Plague Knight and Specter Knight so I picked it up on PS4. The new stages inject a healthy dose of replayability that's an absolute pleasure to experience! I would seriously consider repurchasing this for Switch one day.
Plague Knight takes a hot minute to get used to. An unusual jumping mechanic with weird projectiles might be offputting for some, but after becoming a acquainted with the new controls and different upgrades, it's clear that this is an entirely new platforming adventure.
The same could be said about Specter Knight, although I found sinking into his moveset easier. It's a pity that Shovel Knight or his buddies haven't been announced for Smash Bros, as they would make excellent additions thanks to their unique and verstiles moves. If that wasn't enough, the expansion packs received new musical treatments by Jake Kaufman, bringing the total tracklist up to 87. Whoa!
