Radial G Racing Revolved
It seems like an easy win: VR and futuristic racing F-Zero / Wipeout style, but I couldn't handle the motion sickness brought upon by Radial G Racing Revolved. Luckily the soundtrack rocks so I got my moneys worth.
There's nothing the devs did incorrectly and I don't think that there are any inherant problems with the way the camera is placed, but its extremely dizzying and I actually threw up while trying to capture footage for the mashup. If you played the free VR update to Trackmania Turbo, you'll understand why supercrazy racing games can only be played in short bursts. Very short.
I think it will be improved in the near future. We might need to wait for higher refresh rates and faster processing, because there's still something offputting about certain VR experiences at the moment and it's probably a technical limitation. Have you ever went back and played a "3D" Nintendo 64 game 20 years later? It's a bit nauseating. I'm thinking if VR games all ran at 240 Hz they'd feel better. What do you think? Were you able to handle Radial G? Start a dialogue in the comments.
