Solomon's Key NES megamix

A review of Arcade Archives: Solomon's Key for PS4 was one of the first GAME TEST PLAY videos on YouTube. The NES version is a faithful port with some graphical and stage variations that is available for free for NES online subscribers.

This once-overlooked gem has solidified itself in video games history by providing a thorough amount of levels and replayability and is more appreciated now than ever thanks to save states and cheating. I can't imagine trying to complete this back in the day without knowing where the hell all the little Jewish Stars were hidden. Or even that they existed in the first place or what all the items did. It doesn't matter though. Playing through the levels by just grabbing the key and getting to the door is a good enough challenge in itself, but I woulda been pissed if I had played all those stages only to get the middle finger ending.

The controls are make or break for a lot of people. You jump with the up button. It works fine given the puzzling nature of Solomon's Key, but it always takes a hot minute getting used to. Have you ever played a fighting game? Alright then I'm sure you can handle it.

Solomon's Key has made its way onto pretty much every system. I'm surprised it made it to the NES with the Star of David intact, This was a pretty early game so it prolly just missed the cutoff before they started removing all religious symbols like crosses and penises,
