Dash Galaxy in the Alien Asylum NES megamix

Sure it would be fun to piss all over Dash Galaxy and his Alien Asylum or whatever, but I was quite fond of this game growing up it's still playable today if you accept that it's more of a puzzler and less of a platformer.

In fact, the platforming is likely to turn some people off as the controls are weird and there isn't a clear objective. The basic idea is to collect all the switches (blue rectangles) so that you can exit the room. Make sure to pick up any bombs and keys you see lying around so you can remove force fields. Only some rooms have them and you need to remember which ones have useful items and which ones are a complete waste of time. Some floors are better to skip entirely by walking back into the elevator.

There's also hidden doors that can be used to warp to different floors. Once you reach level 24 get the key from one of the rooms twice, Destroy the 2 lasers blocking your path and enter the final stage and you're done. Good luck navigating your way through the spaceship, and don't be surprised if you find yourself stuck without a means to break the next force field.

There's only a few tunes in the game but they're pretty solid and memorable. I wonder what Tanya Smith is doing right now. Maybe holding out for a retro reboot of Dash Galaxy in the Alien's Asshole? Prolly not. But I'd be interested in hearing what else she's worked on. Same goes for Neil Brennan and his killer work on the sound driver. Do you even chiptune?
