Command and Conquer Remastered

Command and Conquer Remastered Collection gets a lot of things right. Along with a 4K graphical update, remastered soundtrack, and streamlined interface, the devs have decided to embrace mod support which guarantees the series longevity.

Pathfinding, wallbuilding, and zooming have already been improved and are available for patch. These are must-haves for anyone planning on conquering all the missions on the hardest setting, as they smooth over the bumps of frustration that come along with old skool AI and mechanics.

Let's talk about keybindings because the defaults are a bit archaic and here's what I've been using after dabbling in simulations and RTSs for the past month. I changed WASD to camera scrolling, SPACEBAR to select all units in view, Q to scatter, E to select all units, R repair, T sell, TAB to open/close sidebar, and control-S for quicksave-- I hope someone adds the ability for quickload as well. I also want to sets groups with ~1,~2,~3, etc, but the options don't allow me to use tilda as a modifier key. Transport buttons to slow down and speed up the game would also be nice, currently you can only adjust game speed via pause menu. If any of these get modded or patched in I'll post an update. In the meantime, go play some CnC if you haven't already.
