Akane

Akane's gameplay is just fine. It's an unforgiving arcade-style action game that does a good job of balancing bullets and sword combat, kinda like UBERMOSH with upgrades, but we need to talk about the controls because it's always make or break with these indie titles.

L2 is used to hold your gun while R1 unleashes a dragon slash in conjunction with the R-stick-- it's sloppy as hell. Having one finger on the left trigger and one the right bumper is just weird, and not being able to remap it is just insulting, and the right hand is just fkked completely. I got the game working with the PS4 and Nintendo Pro controllers, and they were both extremely flakey and took a lot of resetting just to get working.

The scenery doesn't change after beating a boss, so expect to look at the same level the entire time. I only play games with great soundtracks so I can make mixes, and I hope the devs seriously considering letting us use a better control scheme.
