n++

I played an "n" game many years back on the Nintendo DS and it wasn't too memorable. After discovering there's a definitive N experience on Steam with a mighty soundtrack I had to give it another go for the sake of making a mashup.

Platforming all comes down to controls and level design, and thankfully N++ feels as great as it's being pitched. I used a PS4 Duelshock and Nintendo Pro Controller. I prefer the latter, but they both work incredibly well with fluid movements and precision handling. The stages do a lot with surprisingly little, and are divided up in such a way that make progression feel challenging and not frustrating.

I appreciate the minimal and efficient presentation. No unnecessary stories or cumbersome menus. There's like 1000 or some levels, and you can replay them to improve your score or collect all of the gold. One of the earlier stages is called "accepting your limitations." If you think you're going to 100% n++, you better have a lot of free time on your hands.
