MLB The Show 19

I played baseball as a kid. I would still do it now if I could get 17 other people together but the odds of that happening anytime are next to none. The best I can hope for is some local multiplayer on MLB The Show 19.

I haven't played any video baseball games in over a decade, so coming from a outsider's first experience with the series, I am happy to report that I thoroughly enjoyed my time with MLB '19. My favorite mode is the March-October abbv. season where you play the last couple innings of cruicial games and build momentum. This allows you see the different players and ballparks in a more timely manner, and also play as different positions. Now is a good time to mention how real everything looks, but I hate it when reviewers talk about the graphics as if you're too stupid to notice them yourself

The Road to the Show wasn't for me, as I really dread text-trees in sports game. You know the ones where you learn to parrot what they want you to say in order to guide your skillpoints and stats. Then there's Diamond Dynasty for anyone who likes baseball cards. I remember the first time I got a pack of baseball cards and thought "okay so how do you play?" only to be informed that it wasn't like Magic: The Gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh. Somebody should print mats that look like baseball fields and invent a game with dice and a coin. That'll make those dusty old cards worth something again.
