Baja Edge of Control HD

Remember Baja Edge of Control back on the Ps2? Me neither. Glad they decided to remaster this non-classic because it was actually worth the ride.

The racing is packed and feels nudgey and good. Keeping your vehicle in working condition an is integral part of Baja. Don't floor the throttle to keep the engine cool, stop leaning into corners if you want the tires to last longer, and keep your landings as soft as possible or else you'll damage your shocks. Some races you'll be required to stop for fuel. It's actually a pretty fresh experience when it comes to racing titles. Protip: Start the game on easy and upgrade your car as you need. Then switch to hard within that class if it becomes too easy. I tried jumping straight into hard but I wasn't able to compete with the cars around me. You really ought to have your vehicle fully upgraded if you want challenge the higher of the two difficulties.

There's over 100 courses in Baja throughout the 10 open-world environments. Speaking of open-world, I recommend playing split-screen multiplayer in the free-roam mode. It's pretty wild exploring the landscape with a buddy and lends itself to a nifty unofficial game of hide and seek. The campaign features multi-race cups, rally courses, hill climbs, and multi-class racing where you start a half a lap ahead of cars from the next highest grade of trucks. What else do you want?
