Steep

There was a lot of hype surrounding Steep when it was released back in December 2016: an open world skiiing / snowboarding / wingsuiting adventure where you can cascade across 100s of miles of slopes while freely exploring the wilderness or jumping into events. Since then, they nearly doubled the landscape with the addtion of Alaska and added more events like the Olympics, X-Games, and rocket-powered wingsuit.

I gave Steep a couple of shots back when it was released as a free demo for a couple days, then when it came out for free on PS Plus, and again to make mashup of the soundtrack. I enjoyed the freeroaming aspect and sense of speed, but there are several issues that piss me off inlcluding the long loading times, the clunky interface, the intrusive HUD that takes up a huge part of the screen, and being kicked out to the main menu because my internet connection dipped (even when I was only playing an offline event!).

The soundtrack is a killer mix of licensed music and original compositions by Zakali. There's electro, hip-hop, rock, ambient, and they all blend together to create a seemless experience. Now if they could just streamline the interface and remove the HUD, maybe I'll come back for more.
